Children’s Ministries

Nursery – We provide nursery during each service for children under the age of three.

Children’s Church – During our Sunday Morning worship service, our children, ages pre-k through 3rd grade have children’s church; a separate service specifically catered for their age, where they will be engaged with God’s Word through song, lesson, craft, and game.

Sunday Night Kids – During our Sunday Evening service, our children gather for a time Bible lessons, snacks and games.

RA’s – Royal Ambassadors (RA’s) is a missions organization for boys in grades 1-5 that helps them develop a Biblical worldview with an emphasis on missions learning and missions doing.

GA – GIRLS IN ACTION (GA) GA is a missions discipleship group for girls in grades 1–5. The GA Motto is “Go Forward!” and Girls in Action do just that—they grow closer to God as they discover their part in His plan and practice what they learn through hands-on missions opportunities. GA leads girls to a lifelong commitment to Christ, His mission, and His church.

Student Ministry

Our student ministry is for students in grades 6th through 12th. We have students from many of the local high schools and middle schools who gather to worship. They meet weekly for a time of fellowship and bible study. Their yearly trips include a summer camp and a winter retreat.

The goal of our student ministry is to equip students by pointing them to the Word of God. It’s our desire here at Oak Ridge, to see them grow spiritually, as well as grow to be respectable young adults in their community.

Shekinah Food Ministry 

The Shekinah Food Ministry has been serving our community since 2001. This institution is an equal opportunity provider. Food distribution times are as follows, the 3rd Thursday of each month and the Monday prior to the 3rd Thursday, beginning at 1:30 pm until 4:00 pm. Food is distributed at the Smith Hall Fellowship Building located at 7262 Rhodhiss Rd, Connelly Springs, NC.

Compassionate Hearts Clinic 

The Compassionate Hearts Clinic is a faith–based nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide charitable primary care to residents of Eastern Burke County who have limited financial resources. The clinic is open on the second and fourth Tuesdays at 6 pm and the fourth Monday at 1 pm. This ministry is a part of our home campus at 7449 Oak Ridge Rd, Connelly Springs, NC 28612.

Missions

One way that Oak Ridge fulfills the mission of Christ is by doing missions locally and around the world.

Our two main local missions include our Compassionate Hearts Clinic and our Shekinah Food Ministry.

The way we accomplish missions outside of our local community is through giving and going.

To give to missions, we annually collect mission offerings to help support national and international pastors, church planters, and missionaries. We also collect other items for mission projects throughout the year.

To go and do missions, we send mission teams across North Carolina, the United States, and internationally.

To give and go do missions, we collect gently used clothing, furniture, housewares, appliances, toys, and bicycles and take them to be distributed to needy families in the Appalachian coal fields of eastern Kentucky. We collect these items at the church on the first and third Saturdays of each month from 9am-11am.
